Can Duncan Designed pups be split?

I am considering a Schecter C1 that comes with "Duncan Designed" pickups but I want to make sure I have the option to split them somewhere down the road.

Do these have 4 leads?

Depends. There's a lot more than just one kind of "Duncan Designed" pickup... You'll probably have to open it up and find out, buddy.

Therein lies the rub; I don't own the guitar. I'm interested in it only if I can tap/split the hummers...

you can still split a 2-conductor HB. if you're knowledgeable you can change the lead to 4-conductor for splitting

Hey fretbored. Thanks for the post and welcome to the User Group Forum.

All Duncan Designed humbuckers come with four-conductor cable and, therefore, can be split, as well as wired in series, parallel and/or out-of-phase.

I hope that helps.

Although the question has been answered, as a side note again, three conductor pups can be split also, but they cannot be put in parallel, or phased with themselves, and they do limit the flexibilty of the splitting sometimes. Most everything is four conductor instead of three these days.
