Can I only get the Blues Saraceno in black?

After throwing around some humbuckers that I may want to put in the bridge of my Strat, I think I have decided to go with the Blues Saraceno, but I think I have read that this particular pickup only comes in black. Is there any way I can get it in another color?

Another question about the Paralell Axis line, what is the significance of their unique pole pieces? How do they differ from normal pole pieces. Just curious.

I only have the PATB-1, so that's all I can speak toward. I think I heard that the PATB-1 is also only available in black. guess there's not enough demand to even be able to special order them in different colors.

the impression I have is pretty much what it says in the description on the official site. the way the pole pieces are, they surround the strings on both sides in a way that gets more sound while reducing magnet pull (allowing more sustain). they seemed more of a gimmick to me when they first came out, so it was a shock that I liked it so much when I finally tried one for the first time.

Is there any way I can get one from the custom shop without having to pay $160+ for it? The color of the pickup doesn't matter to me all THAT much, but if I could somehow get another color without having to pay too much more then I'll give it a shot.

the three different parallel axis pups are avaliable only in black,i have never seen another color so i am pretty sure it has to be Custom shop which is crazy to have to spend a extra $70 just for another color, you mine as well spec the pup too for that kind of coin.
Get a wind of your choice and color but base it on the blues pup:cool2:

I doubt that you can have a different color if you pay a lot more. SD had to get a different color from a their supplier as a special order. Those different colors with standard spaced bobbins can be supplied by several suppliers, even online.

No you can't get any of the parallel axis pickups in anynthing other than black. Not even in the Custom Shop. I know, I have asked. There just doesn't exist those bobbins in any other colour and SD would have to make thousands and thousands of those to make it profitable. They can however make the polepieces in gold if that gives any comfort.

Hypothetically, could I get a standard trembucker with PA-TB3 specs from the custom shop? Would it be the same sound, or would the conventional pole pieces make too drastic of change in the sound?

The parallel axis design is the secret to the sound.

Yes you can , I had a TB-59 rewound to the Blues specs. The differences I can remember is that where the Blues can sound a bit compressed the rewound 59 was more open.
