guys, i am considering buying a line6 toneport for home recordings. i want to know how you use it and if it can be used as a plugin in say Cubase. is it any good, or should i just dish out a couple more bucks for a decent soundcard? i would use it to record demo songs for my band to work on, not high quality stuff.

It is a good recording interface I use it all the time. You can't use the Toneports as "plugins" though but Line6 does sell a "plugin" version of Gearbox with all of the models.

i thought it would be a good home solution, i mean, just plug in the guitar and record to a drum track without the hassle of mics and amps. i have a delta soundcard in my other comp that i use for studio recordings, but i just don't need that at home for demos. think it's worth the money?

I use Toneport GX into Reaper for all my recordings, and like it. Great $50 well spent.
