can pearly gates be used to get the vh tone

i notice the specs of the p.gates as having a alnico 2 magnet.i know that most of vh's pup's have al.2 mags.so will i be able to vh tones with this pup?

Depends on the axe. My results have varied. I've had a bit better luck with a Seth. The absolute closest I have come has been a Custom slug/59 screw coil hybrid w/A5 mag in a Washburn Idol WI66. A mahogany Set neck instrument isn't the axe I would have thought would do that tone but that combination nails 1984 tone with a Marshall Patch I have tweaked on my PODXT.
