Can someone do a review of the Jazz bridge pickup?

I'm mostly into high output bridge pickups and have owned/tried almost every high gain pickup from SD but one pickup I've always wanted to try is the Jazz bridge. The Jazz neck has always been my favourite neck pickup but I never thought I had a use for the Jazz bridge because of its low output. I don't hear much talk about it like the neck and I was wondering if anyone could talk about their experiences with it. Thanks.

Hopefully JOLLY will chime in,I believe he's got a LP with the Jazz set...

What kinda guitar?

Jazz bridge:

Lots of treble. Kinda hifi-ish tone. Fairly dry. Kinda mid scooped but with a bit more fluidity than with the jazz neck. It's also a bit sharp. Needs a warm sounding guitar or an unoriented alnico5.

Swap in an alnico2 and voilà... Alnico 2pro.

Is it something a person who already likes single coils in the bridge would actually like?

I found this demo, not hifi, it is whatit is.

No idea. Do you like the old T-Top pickups? Yes? then you'll like the Jazz. No? look elsewhere :)

I've heard a lot of people say the Jazz and Alnico 2 Pro were just a magnet swap away and I should really keep that in mind.

That's an awesome demo and really makes me want to try one in the bridge. I'd love to hear the jazz bridge with some riffs chugged out at high gain.

I'll only chime in to say (with no experience with the Jazz bridge) that being low-output is not something that should really concern you, unless you're into really high-gain, tapping and sweeping away sort of playing.

If you already like the tone and dynamics of single coil pickups, even the weakest humbucker will have good enough output for you.

I like the dynamics of single coils which is why my humbuckers are pretty weak. I didn't choose them that way, but I got drawn into them for whatever reason seemed legit at the moment and right now, I love them.

While not heavy, this entire song is a Jazz Bridge Model.

This is all Jazz Model Bridge except for the very first solo. It's a Jazz Neck Model.

Diego I'd say I play metal/punk at high gain 90% of the time :) Just always loved the jazz neck and wondered what the bridge would be like but I think I can make it work for my next guitar. Variety is the spice of life.

Thank you so much! I've been dying to hear some good clips and you delivered. Next pickup I buy will be a jazz bridge :)
