Can someone identify an Ibanez JS model?

At my local guitar store, they have a very early Satriani model. It has 2 humbuckers (Dimarzio), a fixed bridge that has 6 individual sadles (kind of looks like graphite saddles), it has a straight neck with a string tree that covers all six strings, and it has a very flat finish that looks like a wanlut type of finish. I think the body is mahogany. The headstock says JS on it with no other numbers like JS1 JS100 etc. It also has a stamped Ibanez neck plate. If anybody knows anything about this guitar, please fill me in. I'm looking to pick it up, but need more info. Thanks.

Sounds like a JS6000.

be careful, some get the JS6000 & JS6 confused.

Yep, it's either a JS6 or JS6000... that's a good link to check into it at though.

It's a JS6. I'm not sure exactly. but I know it's a fairly low serial #. The only problem is, it needs a fret grind and polish. Some of the frets are beat. The original owner is not sure if he wants to trade it, so I'm not even sure if I can get it. But if he does trade, the owner of the store is going to try to get it for a price that he can sell it to me for around $425, including the fret work. Other than that it's in used, but good shape. Definately broken in well. Does that seem like a fair price? I'm not too sure of what something like that would go for on say Ebay, but I've been dealing with the owner of that guitar shop for about 4 years now, and he's always been fair. Any thoughts?

Sounds ok... Satriani's [punctuation?] are nice guitars, my bandmate nearly bought one before deciding on a Gibson SG Voodoo. I reckon if you are willing to spruce it up and make it your own, as it were, it would be worthwhile - assuming you play that kind of music, of course...
