I thought originally it was a Dimebucker but now I think that it might be something like a custom duncan

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

The bridge one is not a Duncan Custom. It's hard to tell just by looking at the neck pickup. It looks pretty much like all other pickups. If you took the neck pickup out and look on the bottom of it I'm sure we could tell you what it is. Does the bridge pickup say Seymour Duncan on it?

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

Sorry I dont have anymore pictures these are coming from a friend of mine that I might buy it from and he dosent know what are in it, he said that they are both duncans. these are the only pictures of the pups that where provided.
I just dont want it to be a dimebucker in the bridge, I dont play metal guitar. I was thinking that its a 59 in the front and a hawkbucker or nok in the bridge.

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

I have looked at the pictures zoomed in to the max and i dont see any white writing on the pup like the dimebucker has, thats why i am happily starting to rule that pickup out of the equation, but I figuered you guys on here know best and could probably help me out

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

I don't think the bridge pickup is a Duncan at all. I would say it's a Bill Lawrence, but I'm no expert whatsoever on those pickups, and I don't want to tell you something that isn't true. I'd have your buddy take the neck one out and look and see what it is. It won't take but like 10 minutes tops for that to happen.

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

No way to tell for sure about the neck.

I don't think the bridge is a Bill lawrence either cos the BLs and the Dime, IIRC both have that outer cover that wraps around the bobbins. That pickup does not have that. Also it has WIDE blades.

I'd say it's either an old Ibanez V5 or whatever they were called (mid 80s ), or more likely a DiMarzio X2N. Both of which are very high output, ESPECIALLY the X2n.

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

Thanks guys, I will post more pictures closer when he sends them too me,

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

it's not a Dimarzio X2N. The X2N has black blades on it. Those look to be chromed. And it can't be a Bill Lawrence L-500 or Dimebucker b/c it doesnt look epoxied, and the blades are too wide. If it's definitely a Duncan, then it is either a Hawkbucker or the Nokie Edwards model. The only other probable thing it could be is a GFS Power Rail. The older models had wide chrome blades like that and were not epoxied. Hope this helps.
Also, from the looks of it, that is a bridge pickup in the neck pickup slot, because it appears that the adjustable pole pieces are closest to the bridge.

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

the black blades of the X2N can't be that recent of a thing. I just recently acquired 1998 Ibanez RG420. It has an X2N in the bridge that the guy said he put in the day after he got the guitar. He bought it new. So, the X2N's have had back blesfor t least about 10 years now. But who knows, that could be a 10+ yr old pickup.

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

All the pickups you guys are talking about seem to be really Hot with a high output. nay chance that it is not a metal pick up

Re: Can someone tell me what pickup this is

high output doesnt necessarily mean metal but chances are with rails is aint gonna be a paf sound
