Can someone with a loose JB do me a favor? (magnet question)

Is there a mark on the magnet visible on either side of the pickup? I've read A5 is marked black, A2 blue. But I need to know where on the magnet these marks are. A pic isn't necessary but would be awesome. 👍

I've taken enough apart to tell you that there are no marks.

I don't remember seeing anything written on them either. If there had been, I wouldn't have two in my cabinet right now that I can't identify as A5 or A2.

Most of mine do have "sharpie" marks on the edge. (Most, not all.)

Short black line for A5. Long blue line for A2. (Photo isn't so good.)

P.S. Those mags are the same size. I cut-'n-pasted one from the other.

No marks on the magnet. Use a compass or get a pickup orientation tool to orient magnets.

the mark on most mags are on the north side. the marked north side should look towards the slug bobbin. in case of a p90 the north side should be visible on the outside of the pup.
in other words: the unmarked south side of the mag always touches the pole screws.

Aren't all JB's just a little loose?
