Can the high e string be bent past a whole step?

Hi all,

I've been trying to do some two step and one and a half step bends on the high string but it seems to fret out most of the time. The B string and G string are fine but the high e seems to fret out. Is the high e supposed to be bent past a whole step?

If the radius of the fingerboard is flat enough, and if the frets are in good shape - yes. Many players do.

If you're fretting out on the high e, maybe try giving the neck a little bit more relief.

relief can help on the left (low) frets. If the buzz happens on the high frets then the player must raise the action.
