Bought this off eBay said it was a Cool rail for the neck other info i read says its a Hot rail for the neck. anyone know ?
Can you tell me if this is a Cool rail or a Hot rail

yes as a humbucker its 10k around 4.9k as a single

That looks like a Cool Rails to me. Its one of the older versions. The older Hot Rails would have had a triangular lip on the baseplate as opposed to the oval plate you see in the pic. A Hot Rails could have been custom ordered without the lip, I suppose. But, the older codes for a Hot Rails neck would have just been the "n" while the Cool Rails has a "1n" code. Duncan has them listed as being wound for the neck at 10.8 for the Hot Rails and 9.4 for the Cool Rails.

that helped, thanx. I do have a hot rail with the triangular base in the neck of my yamaha RGX312 which mounts to the body. I am in the experimenting stage with this but I plan for now to drop it in my 57 RI in the neck. I got a lil screamin demon in the bridge.
