Can you wire a three way switch to split coil a pickup

want to do this to one of my guitars were the neck pickup is proprietary and sucks ass. i need good direction because i am new at this . thanks

There is a special toggle that can split the coils... The toggle can twist to change the coil splits. Also, there is a six way and a rotary knob you can use instead.

If you wish to disconnect the neck pickup since it sucks and use the existing 3-way to split the bridge pickup, it can be done.

Assuming the bridge pickup is a Duncan 4-conductor pickup, run the black wire to the controls, then the controls to the jack. Run the red + white wires to one side of the 3-way, with the center of the 3-way going to a ground point.

Or you could run the hot wire from one coil to one side of the switch, and the wire from the other coil to the other side of the switch. This way you can get split to screw coil/both coils in parallel/split to slug coil.
