Can't get my Mustaine set quiet.

Hey all, new to the forum but no stranger to the control cavity. This is, however, my first time with active pickups.

I got this set to drop in my dean hardtail rather than blow the money on Dave's signature dean, and I cannot get this guitar quiet. I've tried grounding in parallel, series, with and without the bridge wire, took out the tone pots, took out the switch, reduced it to just the bridge pickup and the volume pot. Still has that faint hiss. I'm familiar with the grounding noise from passive pickups, and this sounds different, but i'm not sure if actives would be responsible for that.

I'm about to send the bridge pickup straight to the jack. Red wire to the battery, black wire to the sleeve, white wire (i think, i'm at work) to tip. If I still have noise, i'm out of ideas. I also have other projects for other guitars in mind so I really wanna get this finished.

Thanks in advance.

I've wired the neck pickup directly to the output jack. I have the wires loose and i'm trying different combinations by contact and nothing's quiet.

I purchased a set a few years ago...and the bridge was micro-phonic from the factory. Did everything I could to stop it...no go. I finally sent it back for a new one which was fine.
