Capacitor & Tone Control Question

I am always looking for more clarity and presence.

I have downsized capacitors and even disconnected tone control entirely, but am wondering if there is a way to keep a tone control in the circuit without robbing any presence?

there is, though i'm not sure how to do it. somebody else will chime in with that info. however, i'm interested in what value pots you are using. 1meg pots should help give you what you're looking for.

I'm using 500k standard HB tone control. Thanks, I will give a 1meg a try.

fender no load pots, at 10 they supposidly remove themselves from the cuircut (like no tone contol at all)

A 1 Mohm pot will give you all the old capabilities but be pretty much nonexistent when full open.
