Hi all,
In light of the recent pickup change I did on a used Brian Moore I just picked up (Alnico II Pro neck/ Pearly Gates bridge) I went back and played the DC 400T (mahogany body, Maple neck, flamed Maple top, ebony fingerboard) and decided the pickups were definitely lacking in a distinctive voice, even though they are pretty poswerful. The sound was loud but definitely flat in response, and even sounded thin next to the Brian Moore.
I play just about every style (not because I'm "all that" or anything, I just like to play a lot of stuff), but tend, these days, to be more of a "touch" player, though sometimes a guitar stands in need of a good poundung. As this guitar is a bit of a "blank slate," i'm looking for some suggestions of a different way to go for humbuckers since what I was going to do to the Carvin, I did, instead to the Brian Moore. I pretty much have the Strat end of things covered (Tex Mex w/ Hot Rails in the neck, Little '59 in the Bridge, Carvin DC 135T, all koa, Hot Rails in the neck).
I've got a POD, Boogie Mark IV widebody, a Fender Stage 112SE, my pedal board (the drive end) consists of :
Boss CS-3 Compressor
Marshall ED-1 Compressor
Fulltone Fulldrive 2
Fulltone FatBoost
Full tone Distortion Pro
ZVEX SHO clean Boost
Any and every suggestion is welcome.
Thanks,
Brett
