Carvin V3

Anybody have experience with one? $899 for an all-tube, three channel head that can be British (EL34) or American (6L6 or 5881)? That sounds like a GREAT deal, and it's made in America too! I just watched the demo video and listened to the clips, and it sounds pretty good. I'm hopefully about to start a new job, so maybe I can get myself a little xmas gift.

The Carvin stuff is very good new merchandise for the money...you get alot for your money. But it hasn't much of a resale value and the odds of it ever appreciating in value are slim...that's about all that's wrong with the Carvin stuff: low resale value.

If you shop wisely and buy a good used amp like a Fender or Marshall or Boogie, you'll be able to sell it in a few years for what you paid for it or maybe even a little more.

Well, I'm really just more interested in getting good tone, with 3 channels, for as little as possible.

Check out the Carvin BBS on their website; there are a number of postings regarding the V3. The posters have something of a Carvin bias (the Carvin BBS is more restictive than the Duncan BBS), but you still may get some decent info there.
