Has anybody here replaced the pickups in their Carvin? Is any routing or drilling needed? *crosses fingers for a "no"*

Re: Carvins: routing or drilling needed?

From what i heard, you have to modify the guitar.
But MAYBE you could get away with modifying just the pickups?

Re: Carvins: routing or drilling needed?

I have a DC127 and a SD JB fit right in no problem! The only way I see a problem is if your Carvin PUs are mounted directly to the guitar body(contour 66 or custom ordered)because of the 2 on one side and 1 on the other height adjustment screws. Oh yeah, you'll need to buy a new pickup ring because of the 2 and 1 holes. If you have any problems, drop me a line and I hope that I can help!

Alright, thanks a lot, milkbone! Luckily mine is a DC200, which has mounting rings. What type of rings did you use on yours?

I don't remember the brand but if you take your stock one to the music store with you, I'm sure they can match the height for you. Glad I could help!
