Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

damn dude!!!!!!!!

WHY MUST YOU DO ALL THESE AWESOME THINGS AND LEAVE ME IN THE DUST!! :D

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

That was awesome :burnout:

The admins should change your title "Super Toneologist" into something different. This is too cool!

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Hey, that was fun!
Guitar tone is a TOUCH thin, tho. I would recommend tracking with a bit more mids and bass, and then hi pass the guitar when you mix.

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

I loved it!

CastleVania music is some of my favorite video game music.

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Rid, I used my Epiphone Korina Explorer ('57 Classic neck/DeArmond Goldtone bridge) because the neck is really rich for leads and the bridge has a nice vintage edge to it. Plugged into the GT-6 and that was it! :)

moom, this can only mean one thing...POST MORE CLIPS!!! I would love to do a backing track for you one of these days because I really can't keep up with your mad shreddage.

StrangeSound, I totally agree! That would be awesome, but do the admins ever even check Tips and Clips? I know Evan posted that one clip, but other than that, I haven't really seen them on here, ever.

TO, I listened to it again and you're right! It IS a bit thin. I will for sure boost the bass and mids a bit when using bridge pups. It sounds pretty good on the neck pup (those little octave solo bits were done with bridge on the regular notes and neck pup on the lower octave). Thanks for pointing that out. Otherwise, I woulda fallen directly into that generic hair-metal glam rocker sound :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

wixomwhat, I'm a true believer of Castlevania music! They are the Yngwie of the videogame world, and on a scale of awesomeness, perhaps only second to Final Fantasy :saeek: :saeek: :saeek: !

Thanks a TON for listening, guys. It really makes my day after being at SCHOOL for so long.

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Well what can I say, you really know how to nail it Biu!
I love Castlevania!

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Biu that bloody rocked! I had no idea you were such a great player. What program did u use to get those drum loops down?

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

Biu, you rock! I always enjoy your arrangements and your writing. When your first album comes out, I'll be at the front of the line to buy it.

Wow! Do you know how big of an honor that is to me?!

strat_master, I used an Alesis SR-16 drum machine. It sounds so real! And it's actually fun to use and program drums tracks (the preset drum arrangements they have are OK, but kind of boring).

Thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it. Expect more clips to come today!!!

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

OH SHlT SON.

I just had the best 8-bit orgasm of my LIFE. Castlevania: Simon's Quest was the first NES game I ever played, I was three then.

Any SOTN tunes? GOD I would love to hear your version of Clock Tower, Bloody Prince, or try to go Van Halen 'Cathedral'-esqe when doing Royal Chapel.

Biu for President. Thank you.

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

BIU, This tune kicks total @ss man. I may be 33, but I'm a video game nut too and I love the Castlvania series. You know as young as you are and as good as your certain to get, you could make quite a good living doing video game music.

Re: Castlevania: Heart of Fire (Neoclassical metal mix)

that sounded awesome Biu, your tone sounded perfect for this type of song!!!

cool stuff man

r0x! More Castlevania fanatics, awesome! "Clock Tower" is a scary song! That is insane Yngwie-style stuff :saeek: I'll have to get a lot better to do that one :( I've always wanted to do "Wandering Ghosts", but unfortunately, I don't know any harpsichord players; but maybe I could just guitar it :) "What is a man, a miserable pile of SECRETS?!" ;) ;) ;) I actually tried to pass SOTN with nothing but fists and/or brass knuckles. DIDN'T WORK! :laugh2:
LC, I didn't know you were a game geek! Check out my tunes at Soundclick (in my sig), I did a lot more videogame tunes, all of which you probably know.

Dirrty Craig, a career making videogame music would be a dream come true! I'm taking your advice and spending some serious time getting my chops up with a metronome. Paul Gilbert, here I come! ;)

Thanks, Fo Bear!
