CC in Parallel for Neck?

I'm not sure why I think this would be a good idea, but I've become disenchanted with the JazzN, the output (but not tone!) of the CC, and want to put my PCB in my main guitar. Any thoughts? TIA

:scratchch

haven't tried it, don't know about this one... demon might be better as it's basically an underwound custom but i'm guessing you don't have one handy. anything's worth a try; people use the JB in the neck and like that.

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

I have a Custom in the neck of my Les Paul wired in parellel. It's loud, clear, bright and chimey and I love it! Con: I've lost that Les Paul hollowed out neck tone. One of these days I'm going to add a series/parellel push-pull.............

Edit:....I've got it paired up with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, so I'm not exactly going for subtle vintage tones!

thanks for that man; i have an LP with a neck slot that makes the demon sound bassy, and a spare custom or 2 so i'm going to try this...
cheers!

Sometimes ya gotta think outside the box! Go for it and see what happens!

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

I have a custom in the neck of my SZ520 , it's actually marked sh5n , but has the full
17k bridge wind , they came OEM for some high end Hamer guitar with a CC in the bridge...nice combo , I run it series and split in the neck...give it a try you might like it

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

I would look at the PGN or A2N Pro before wiring a CC in parallel.

Yes, the PGN is probably the way to go, but lack of cash means that's not going to happen soon. As for the A2P... its association with Slash's tone means that'll never happen.

i'm hearing you; i've wanted a PG set forever but can't justify the 3-400 bucks i'd have to spend to get em down here hehehe

the A2P is good in an LP though. sure as h3ll doesn't make me sound like slash... :grumble:

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

Wire it up for Spin-a-Split and you can zero in on exactly how much CC you want in the neck.

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

I think it would probably sound good in it's own way, but of course what people normally say is "output" goes to hell in parallel mode.

The Demon will probably be perfect for you.

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

Hmmm. CC in Parallel.....Could this perhaps be the ultimate LP middle pup?

Very interesting. So just how weak does the CC sound in Para? Too weak to pair with a normal bucker?

Re: CC in Parallel for Neck?

Probably. I think you need a JB/DD/Invader class coil setup to go parallel.
