Ceramic caps on volume pots

This is a G&L Cantrell Rampage. What does the ceramic cap do on the volume pot? G&L does this on a lot of their guitars. Wondering why.

It's a treble bleed cap. Sometimes a resistor is used in parallel with the cap.

A filter, is a filter. Any time you see a cap in parallel with a resistor, or variable resistor in this case, it is a filter.

Keeps signal from getting bassy when at low volume
