Charvel Neck Compatibility

Does anybody know, if the Charvel Pro Mod Necks from the same series are compatible.
Here's the situation: I've got a Charvel So Cal (MIM, 2013 I think) and I'm thinking about buying a San Dimas HS Hardtail (MIM), which I'm pretty sure is from the same series.
Now I'd like to know if the heel measurements are the same and if i could change the necks. I blocked the tremolo in my So Cal so I don't care about the missing locking nut in the San Dimas Neck.
The reason I want to change the necks is because I'd like a rosewood fretboard on my So Cal and the maple one on the San Dimas, as they both would look much better then.
Thank you!

Re: Charvel Neck Compatibility

I imagine they would be the same but some vernier calipers can confirm it easy enough.

Re: Charvel Neck Compatibility

**** who trades out a maple for rosewood?

The maple looks great on those charvels.

Re: Charvel Neck Compatibility

Thanks for the answer and yeah I know, I got a strange taste, it's mostly the optics. The So Cal I have is white and the San Dimas I'm interessted in is black. I think white looks better with a rosewood and black with a maple.
I just wanted to know if it's an option to change the necks.

Re: Charvel Neck Compatibility

They should be compatible. Generally speaking Charvel necks have a 2 1/4" heel; I have 3 Model series guitars from the mid 80s and none of them will still have its original neck when I'm done swapping.

I asked them the same question about two HT MIM models from different years and they replied:

"Yes you should be able to swap those necks with no issues as they are milled to have the same pocket. I hope this helps!"

They did reply super quick so I encourage you to do the same: consumerrelations at charvel dot com.

Re: Charvel Neck Compatibility

Jackson/Charvel have used the same neck pocket since their first production models started in the 80s, with very little deviation over the years. I've mounted necks onto bodies made 10 years apart. The biggest issue I've encountered was the paint thickness around the neck pocket: on some it was thicker than on later models, and had to be sanded down to prevent the neck from being pushed into an angle.

I put a Japan-made ProMod neck on a USA ProMod body, so what you're looking for should work easily.
