Check out this amazing pedal

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

Am I the only one that thinks this pedal has a really nice tone based on the fact that hes using standard gear (Fender standard strat into deluxe reverb)?

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

That playing sounded very similiar to EJ. I've never heard of this company before, I'll have to poke around their site.

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

Either have I. I think its a rather new company. I've just been randomly searchin around internet places in my search for my ultimate overdrive and happened to come across this. I'm in love with the the tone it produces.

Yep he was playing EJ's clean Fender style and mixing it up with the violin tones via the Marshalls...

GuitarFetish is also GFS pickups and Xaviere Guitars. They're based out of Massachusetts and they've set up operations in Korea for pickups to be would to their specs there and shipped to the United States for sale. Same with the guitars.

The pickups have gained them alot of traction. The quality is quite good, well past the asking price generally. Their philosophy cuts out alot of the other things that SD and Dimarzio HAVE to spend money on; they don't want to do trade shows or endorsements. They just want to make gear and sell it. There's alot of options and they've done well both with the aesthetics of the pickups as well as with the features. They're guitar players that have a good ear for what other guitar players want.

The pedal is curious as it's MIA, Atlanta. The other curious aspect of it is that they're claiming it to be a low-cost alternative to pedals that cost more, but the asking price is over $200 dollars. Now, I know that pedals can get expensive but this kind of seems to fly in the face of what they've been doing in the past.

Hell, I paid $150 for my ZenDrive and I thought the cost was a little more than I felt comfortable with. For over two bills I'm kind of confounded where their offering sits with their philosophy.

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

It's supposed to be all stock average equipment to show what the sound of the pedal and what it can do to ordinary gear, such as the gear the buyers are most likely to have. I think i might be getting it once the ol' student loan money comes in hah.. I agree that it shouldn't be over $200 though...

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

nice EJ tone, but if im gonna get an OD pedal I would stick to either an
SD twin tube or Fulltone OCD (or what the heck ...both)

It sounds ok... I think I'll stick with my Fulltone OCD though.

Re: Check out this amazing pedal

For boutique gear, a good pedal is not out of place to fetch $200-250. Out of range for some pockets, but they are geared to be a highend solution to getting the Eric Johnson tone out of an average setup. It sounds great to me, but I'm just going by soundclips. It's not often you hear a pedal with serious sustain and can be tweaked to do feedback really well.
