Children of Bodom Hatebreeder Rhythm Sound!

I really dig into Children of Bodom Hatebreeder album Rhythm Sound (I think its Alexander Kuoppala guitars sound). I want something that can replicate that kind of sound. I have a Jackson soloist with emg 81, thru a peavey 6505 and a mesa rectifier cab (v30). Do you have a idea about setting, pedals, anything that can get me close to Alexander Kuoppala rhythm sound on hatebreeder?

I don't know what you mean about that, but I know how to tweak knobs on my amp. But the rhythm sound on hatebreeder has really something that sound nice to me and that I'm unable to replicate at all with my setup.

an overdrive pedal may help. maxon od9 or 808, ibanez ts9, boss super overdrive etc. these can help thicken a sound up to get chicky rhythm.

Havent heard hatebreeder so i dont know if its similar to are you dead yet?

Lower the gain and channel volume on the amp and boost the sound with the pedal. youll want to stay away from mid scooping the tone completley.

try the emg in 18V? im not sure

They used Lee Jackson Perfect Connection preamps and Peavey poweramps, with Marshall 1960a cabs.

With your amp, I'd start with these settings and tweak to taste:
lead ch, high-gain input
Pre: 4-5
Bass: 7-8
Mid: 2
Treble: 3.5-4.5
Res:7-8
Pres: 6-7

Should get you a pretty solid tone, and definitely a useable one for Bodom-esque riffing.
