Re: Choose your weapon

right now, i'm running a DS-1 into a danelectro fab chorus into my Ibanez GT10DX amp. I will be adding a digitech bad monkey before the DS-1 sometime tomorrow. and the fender blues junior to follow (once I get $400 to throw around).

Do you consider modulation effects to still be "straight in?"

Luckily, the Line 6 stuff sounds fine into the front, especially since I only use them on clean/midgain. My loop box removes them from the chain, so I can activate them with one button in front on the pink box. I don't overuse FX.
The other button mutes the signal straight to the tuner.

I'm actually not in a situation now where I need everything on my board....last year I did. Pretty soon, I'm going to go to a smaller board without any L6 stuff.

Re: Choose your weapon

I like simple designs for amps... so 1 clean channel was alwayes my favorite choice.
And then you have all of those pedals to choose from for gain and modulation... I like it.

Re: Choose your weapon

I'm using a Line 6 AX2 with a Bad Horsie in front, so I chose straight into multi channel. I use a Wireless too, so I guess I don't actually plug in at all... :D

It's after the amp that things get fun:

Line 6 AX2 Line Out --> 2 Behringer Utlra DI --> Mixer for direct recording

OR

Line 6 AX2 Line Out --> Peavey Classic 50/50 Tube Power Amp --> Sunn 4x12 and Peavey 1x18 in stereo and I run a second stereo pair to the speakers in the amp's cabinet.

Both connection methods are connected at all times, so I just decide whether to turn up the mixer or turn on the 50/50. The whole thing is in Stereo. I found a long time ago that once you got Stereo, there's no going back.

This setup allows me to play late at night with headphones too.

Re: Choose your weapon

I voted for multi/pedals, as that's what I have, but recently I've just been using the clean channel of my TSL 601, and colouring it with a Morley Power Wah, a Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde Ultimate Overdrive and a Carl Martin Duplexer "Rid" Special. I occasionally use a Marshall Supervibe chorus in the loop, and am looking to add a delay.

Re: Choose your weapon

Parker Fly Deluxe-->WD7 Wah-->SFX03-->DD6-->Phase90-->Dynacomp-->Visual Volume-->Celtic Franklin

Not all pedals are in the chain everytime.

Re: Choose your weapon

I used to have a bunch of boxes and ****, all sorts of stuff, but then I went straight in to the front of a good amp and haven't looked back.

Me spending money on boxes is like William Hung spending money on a high-end microphone; it's not gonna help :laugh2:

Boss GE-7 gives me my boost/overdrive sound, clean sound come from rolling down the guitar's volume pot.

Other effects are for flavor: delay, chorus, flanger, tremolo.
