Im trying to make a choice between an RMC2 and a Picture Wah by Teese. Which would be a better choice, im basically looking for a nice vintage wide sweep and a good hendrix tone. The RMC2 seems to be safer because i could change the sweep and sharpness and that sorta thing, but the Picture Wah seems to be an incredible wah, which should i go for?
Also, if im going to be using a Silicon Fuzzface such as the Fulltone 69, would it be necessary to get a Retrofit put into the wah? Or is the retrofit only for germanium fuzzes that overpower the wah?
John(stratdeluxer) id like to hear what you have to say man???
Thanks-
Alex
Well....I'm disappointed that you wouldn't let me build a really nice Vox wah for you,but hey,all is good.....
I owned the Picture Wah and returned it and I've borrowed Curly's RMC1,plus I have an RMC1 that I bought from "Old Ghost"...
The RMC1 is a great wah designed pretty much as a 1 trick pony for single coil users....It has alot of gain and alot of lows and it's sweep is different...This pedal imo sucks for anything other than single coils and gets muddy otherwise..
The PW...Great wah if you want the vintage tones of the earliest Vox ClydeMcoy wah tones of 1967...Doesn't get muddy and it's alot more versatile and can be used with hummers or single coils...Compared to the RMC this wah is thinner in it's tone but has great vocal range and sweep....My own 847 wah sounded better to me and so I got my $245 back from Analog Mike and I'm very happy with it...My modded 847 has alot of extra pots on the board or on the outside for adjustment of "Q" Volume,Gain and mids...Not sure what the RMC2 is going to cost, but it isn't cheap....
If you plan on running your wah into any fuzz pedal, you will have to get the "Foxrock Buffer".....Some people like to run the pedal into the wah,but I hate the sound of my wah when doing this...I took the fuzz pedal right out of my effects chain and sold it...I really don't need fuzz and I've never used it,plus it solves the fuzz/wah hassles...That Foxroc buffer will set you back $45 plus shipping...I still have the one I installed in one of my own wahs, but I took it back out after selling the 69 Fulltone pedal...
Good luck in your wah quest...Contact me if I can be of any other help....Also check into the Wizard Wah....It's a cross between the PW and the RMC wah....
I'll now sit back and await the rebutles from the Teese Trolls... :laugh2:
