Hi ther.e Looks like a lot of your guys know whats good for certain guitars. So i thought id ask your help. here goes. First. Was the JB model ever made in a neck or bridge model? Or just same same. second. I have that reissue gibson gold V that came out about 8 years ago. korina copy of the 58. I want to get those duncans with the gold covers for it. Has emg's in it know. whast the best ones for this guitar? and third. What would be the best pickup to put in those hello kitty fender squiers? bridge. Id love to put a distortion in there. Put from what people are saying here. The wood makes a difference in pickup choice. thanks ron

Re: choosing the best pickup for the job

Welcome to the forum.

Answer #1 - The JB was only ever intended as a bridge position pickup but this has never prevented some people from trying it in the neck position.

The conventional neck position partner to a JB bridge humbucker is the SH-2 Jazz model. This is not my personal preference but that does not matter.

#2 - Yes. You can order SD JBs with gold covers. Personally, on a Korina/Limba guitar, I would go for something more "vintage". That is just my opinion. Don't take any notice.

#3 - How would you like the Squier HK Strat to sound? Go wild. Experiment. See how things sound.

Re: choosing the best pickup for the job

hi. thanks for the help so far. HHmmm.. Im wondering if i am not remembering correctly what i had back in the 80's LOL I know for fact it was duncan distortion at bridge. I thought it was a jb at neck.. Im wondering if i had a 59 there instgead.. All i know is. The leads with the neck pickup were sooo smooth and flowing. Like the intro lead to fade to black.. damm wish i knew for sure... So are you saying for the gold korina V 59's front and back might be good? Or the jb's? Or something else? thanks ron
