Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

Hah!
Anyone who still likes the modulation?
My current small amount of stuff....

I use them for textures, odd jobs, clean stuff, spacy verby long delays stuff...
Soundscapes.....everthing that can make my mind go...fuuun!
My Dipla Echo also has modulation...it is not just an 80's thing....mostly I just stuff it before any drive as well...never liked it much after....

Also repairing this old thing....seems that an opamp and that old compander gave up the ghost!
Hmm has another rehoused Danelectro chorus somewhere as well...a cool cat that I stuck in a new box....for a digital it is really nice sounding, and can get some really odd tones if you want :D

Re: Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

I've got a MIJ BF-2 that I just finished modding a few days ago. Didn't like how it scooped out all bottom and all that metallic sterility, so went to town on it. Probably ruined the resale value in the process too

It honestly doesn't flange as much now, but it's the nicest sounding chorus I've heard, which is how I like it anyway. Didn't have my guitar with my while hooking it up to my stack, so I ran my buddy's old super beat-up Ibby Gio SR bass (with strings probably as old as the bass itself) through it, and holy crap, it sounded gorgeous.

Re: Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

I have a Strymon Mobius for my Modulation.
Most of it is not part of my regular tones.
I use it sparingly, as needed.

Re: Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

My CE-2 and BF-2 are front and center, and have been since about 1981. The CE-2 is MIC, but I hear no difference in sound. Since it's "only" a MIC pedal, I swapped out the LED for a brighter orange one. The original Boss LEDs are useless in a lot of situations. The MF-2 is MIJ. I recapped it a few years ago. The LED remains stock, because it's glued into the housing, not PC board-mounted like later versions.

The Phase 95 meets all my phase-shifting needs in a tiny little space, and I love my TR-2 even though I don't use it much.

On my "surf guitar" board, I have a Marshall Vibratrem which surprisingly enough, will do tremolo OR vibrato. I picked it up from a music store's bargain bin for real cheap. I also have a Behringer CC300 "Space-C", a cheap clone of the legendary Boss DC-2 Dimension C. I've actually A/Bed the two pedals, and the Behringer is very close. Considering its $30 price tag, I say "close enough". If I ever get around to building a little board for my acoustic, the Behringer is going on there, along with a compressor and an EQ/Preamp.

Since the Behringer buyout, TC electronics now offer that Dimension C re-housed fairly cheap, in case yours' ever cave in.

Re: Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

Dimension chorus is the font of life: I use it as often as I can, especially if I get to play things in stereo. Somehow, it just sits exactly where I want it in the sound, regardless of whether I play distorted or clean. Unfortunately the Boss pedal has very little headroom. I've tried it against the TC clone, and whilst the latter sounds good in front of the amp (with the exception of mode 2 I don't think there is any difference that matters live) it doesn't work well in my loop. I'm still looking for a perfect solution to this aspect of my rig, but yes, there has to be some chorus somewhere.

The EVH chorus box is the first new chorus that has stirred my loins for a long time. I don't really do pedals, and I've tried to keep my rig stripe free, but I might make an exception for that one.

Very nice! That flanger was one of the first pedals I bought, in the 90s. I also like the ice box!

Damn, we got similar tastes! I got a ch-1, bf-2, and fl-301 (square button) as well...not to mention many others. Love modulation! Both on clean and distorted.

Re: Chorus!!!! Aand some flange!

I really like the Dimension chorus...not so wobbly. I also dig a phaser, which I've been using a lot more lately. The current favorite is an EH Nano Small Stone.
