Exactly what I was goint to type when I read the thread title! Chris is a pretty good player. Not too big on his fusion stuff but it's great. I think he still does some metal too. Doesn't he?

I should have known you guys would be hip to him. I still feel like he doesn't get nearly enough love so I try to do what I can to spread the gospel! The guy is terrifyingly good.

I think he is an intense player.But his style doesn't hit me...I prefer Friedman...
ofcourse he is more complete ,more technical ,very talented.

+1 or Eric Peterson from Testament. If you ever get the pleasure of hearing his outside stuff you will love it. I've always liked him as much or a little more than Alex Scholnick.

That was great, thanks for posting!!!

Been a fan since "Return to Metlopolis" came out. Was listening to "Rust in Peace" and a buddy said check out thier "old" player, Chris Poland, so I did. First album I ever heard & saw (cover art) a PRS Custom on too.

Always wondered how he got that extreme vibrato. Killer!!!

OHM is awesome. Their song Peanut Buddha really got me into fusion.

my favorite lead guitarist that was in megadeth. marty was great on rust in peace, but chris really nailed it on peace sells.

saw him live opening up for marty - he put on a good show.

I'm listening to him right now - I've got a mix of Steve Vai, Poland, Friedman, Satch and Gilbert on media player!
Great player, with a really unique tone. You know exactly who it is as soon as you hear him.
Him and Dave Elleffson should get together with Nick Menza and do something.

Watching those vids I have to say I never realised he looks like that now.I listen to "Return To Metalopolis" and I do not have a picture of that guy in my head! It's easy to forget how old these guys are, especially when guys like Mustaine still look much the same as they did years ago!
I'm glad I watched these vids though, I now know why he sounds so unique, that vibrato thing is very interesting, thanks for posting!
