in boredom today I started getting off at things on ikebe that we can't get here. As I understand it, they order a lot of special run type things from the factory.

For example, a lipstick strat with matching stock

...a Jag with EMGs (and all the Jag controls still, but a 3 way toggle). Don't know if EMGs would be my preference but it's def. cool that they offer it.

...A genuine, quite Kurt MG65 in poplar, with nonslanted bucker and correct decal

pink

flowers

stripes. On non CAR even apparently (though still in basswood)

yellow

...covered HBs

...this

Jags, with 3 levels of Kurtness

...whatever the hell this is

I could really go on and on. But I won't. Let's go to Japan!

Yeah! I started a thread about this a while back. It's tru there are som many cooler Fender guitars that come out of Japan than what's coming out here in the states. What the Hell!!!!

I just checked some of them out and i hate it when they do a straight up rectangular cut for humbuckers in a pickguard. it looks horrible. they should just do it with the rounded corners, it looks neater and way nicer

hah. on some of those I think what you're seeing is a ring.

on fenders IMO HBs need rings if they're uncovered. Looking at the gaps in the pickguard between on a fat strat is worse than looking up a nostril.

no its not a pickup ring, i mean the cut on the pickguard is a rectangle as opposed to a rectangle with the corners rounded to the shape of an uncovered HB. like in my strat, the HB holes are like that, not a straight up rectangle. look at this:

notice how the second one is a straight up rectangle?? the ones on ikkebe gakki look less rectangular but still aren't as rounded as in the first pic.

That cut is simply called "Fat Humbucker". Only uncovered pickups fit. I have one like that too on my Frankenstrat and one on my Iron Maiden Strat (which is CIJ).

That last Strat is awesome looking. I love it.

thats yellow gold mustang is awesome. A fender dealer near where i go to school had the red striped mustang, great guitar. and as usually the case with CIJ guitars, the necks are to die for.

I love the Albert Collins Tele and the natural 54 Strat.

yeah evanna lynch and emma watson are beautiful, but chris is funny. man, that reminds me i've gotta watch more Family Guy and American Dad lol it's been quite a while i havent seen two of the few good shows out there hahaha

I love the blue Mustang with the bucker in the bridge and the 3 burst Jags. I could also have a lot of fun with the "Dave Murray" Strat.
Cool stuff.

Yeah that last strat is totally ripped of from dave too bad it only has 21 frets or it would be PERFECT.

ironically enough, I don't like any of the shortscales shown here asthetically. the flower tele, pink strat, burgandy mist strat, and the lispstick tube strat.
