Citronic speakers.

Hi , I'm new here and hope I've put this in the right forum.
I'm building a new small speaker cab and went to a guitar store to buy a speaker. The guy recommended a Citronic Model 902.509UK speaker 12" main driver 250w (500w max) 45hz-6k hz.
I wasn't filled with confidence in this guy but bought it anyway. I've searched for info when getting home and cant find the model and noticed that these speakers are not mentioned in conjunction with guitars. I know I should have done more digging around first and not bought it of the cuff. The cab is for a Hughs and Kettner 18 amp.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah, I can only find them online as PA and/or DJ rigs. If you haven’t put it in the cab, then my advice would be to return it for refund and go with a recognized/respected guitar speaker manufacturer = the impact of speaker on tone is severely underrated across the internet compared to everything else in the signal chain).

Alternatively, you could try it and see if the guy was right, and hear if it works for your ears. I wouldn’t, but that’s just me.

Yeah pretty certain that's a PA speaker!
Goodness I hope you can return it.
Would not expect it to sound good with a H&K, which already have a bright, hi-fi sound

I took it back and got a long lecture about speakers from the old guy :sleeping: I let him ramble on then asked for a refund .
I've ordered a Celestion Ten 30 online.
