clarification: pickup in seymour's signature esquire

read somewhere that the 'custom' tele lead pickup in seymour's signature fender esquire is actually the 1953 tapped jb for tele instead of the tapped alnico 2 hot for tele i read about in the this forum. can anyone clarify?

that was what i read till someone told me via email that sd supplied the 1953 tapped jb for tele to fender for seymour's signature esquire. hence this post.

it's not right to mention who that someone is without his permission, but he is a guitar manufacturer listed on the oem list on sd website.

Well if Evan says it is, I'm going by his word as best, since he is VP in SD, after all.

thanks for pointing that out jag. i forgot to add. in his email, he stated "i spoked to seymour..."

i have no reason to doubt evan. but its a different story when seymour is in the equation. it may even be that this certain guitar manufacturer may be leading me down the wrong track.

that's the reason why i needed the clarification so there will be no ambiguity or mislead information.
