Classical guitars, as fickle as any woman

A few things I've learned as the seasons change. Spruce tops are fickle as hell! The sound changes on them so rappidly due to humidity and temp factors its amazing.

Just the other day I was playing and I rarely heat my place unless it's just really really cold but keep the humidity levels correct. So it was about 62 degrees and my classical just sounded flat and unlively compared to what it normally does. Skip to today and it's about 70 inside and the thing is ready for any concert hall... heavenly to say the least in sound.

Before that my guitar room humidity level dropped to around 37% (I usually keep it around 45-50%) and I didn't notice to run and kick the humidifier on. Sure enough the guitar let me know as the sound was just not there as it usually is.
