Hi, I've been a Seymour Duncan user for years,my setup in my Gibsom LP is a 59 neck and JB in Bridge.
I am probably going to take out the Jb and put in the Custom SH-5.
I just wanted to make sure that i got this right.
There has been alot of refrences made to the "Custom 8" or C8,
Thats this guy - Alternative 8 SH-15

Thanks.

Re: Clear Something up for the new guy.

the Custom8 aka C8 is NOT the Alternative 8.

The Custom8 is not actually a production pickup (though we're trying to change that). It is simply any one of the Custom Series humbuckers (Custom SH-5, Custom Custom SH-11, Custom 5 SH-14) with the stock magnet replaced by an Alnico 8

Re: Clear Something up for the new guy.

Try the C5 first.

Alnico 8 adds a lot of punch, and the pickup actually gets louder than with the other Alnicos. The medium coils in the custom line let it go pretty wild.

The Alternative 8 packs A8 into very high wind coils to get them back into friendly territory.
