Clip for Davey

Re: Clip for Davey

hehe. way cool

i wonder how it would sound when its louder.. and how it would complement a tube amp being set for mild breakup

Re: Clip for Davey

Thanks guys! :)

Davey, I don't know to be honest..cos I have not tried. But based on my experience with how well it works with the VS65R, assuming an appropriately voiced amp (i.e. marshall), I would think it would work great, and I suspect if the Laney you mentioned is voiced similar to the old Laney amps of the late 80s/early 90s (I had two and can never remember the names of the friggin models), it would work well.

As for voume, I did get to crank it to noon for a bit over the weekend (loud enough to piss off all my neighbors easily) and the only thing I felt needed some tweaking was the high end (rolled my tone pot down to 7), and I rolled back the gain on the amp a little bit.

:bigthumb: Heh, no worries Davey. I'm glad to hear all comments...good, bad...indifferent.

I will say it sounds much better and less harsh in person but no doubt it's not a "real" tube amp.
