Hey there, guys! Just signed up, and thought I'd better say hi, and post a clip of some sort. Lots of awesome guitarists here! I'll be sure to check out everyone's posts asap! hahaha Anyways, lemme know what you think, thanks in advance for the listen/view!



Anyways, The Furies are awesome, I love the responsiveness; really different from the Dimarzios (Which are in one of my other YJM Strats, not as nice in my opinion...). I do love how this guitar, with these pickups responds with different amplifiers, really cool.
I miced this real quick with a Sennheiser E906 and recorded it on the fly with Final cut and logic simultaneously.

Welcome to the forum.

To my ears, your recording sounds Vai-inspired. I agree that the STK-10s sound more appealing than their DiMarzio forebears. They seem to lend themselves to all manner of guitar playing styles. For me, this is a good thing. I am not a disciple of YJM or shred generally.

ooo Thanks, man! Well, I tried to definitely avoid the Harmonic Minor stuff captain Yng does, Any comparison to Vai, I shall take as a huge compliment! The SD's seem to have a sort of 'grit' that other pickups lack, in my opinion. Even on clean tones, the Furies are really fun. Although, I feel that way about all of my guitars that I outfit with SD's hahaha

You've really nailed the Vai feel but added your own thang which is great. Love it!
I was checking the thread 'cos I just bought some Fury's (neck & middle with a 'mystery' humbucker)
I'm no Yngwie fan, more of a Zappa clone, and Frank used Duncan stacks in his performance strat
I decided to fit various stacks to some of my axes...can't go wrong really!

Sounds great! Single coil bite with extra thickness and grit. How are they on clean tones?

Fantastic clip. Nice funk rock jazz flavor. Fluid style. I don't think so much Vai as Satriani. Like it.
