Closest Single size pup to the CC?

Which single coil sized pickup (either single, stacked, rails or whatever) is closest in sound to the CC. I have a mahogany bodied , maple top with a maple neck and ebony board Warmoth Strat clone.
The 5-2's are great for the neck and middle but I want the sound of the CC in the bridge( without routing the body)
Any input is appreciated

IMO, it's the Jerry Donahue Tele lead. As far as Strat pickups go, none have quite the same degree of quack that the JD does, but the Twangbanger and Antiquity Custom might be closest. For the tone curve of a CC, it would have to be an alnico 2 single coil, IMO. Lew

I would suggest the Little 59 or a Cool Rails leaning more towards the CR... the CC definitely doesn't QUACK... at least not in HUMBUCKING mode...

The thing is if you look at the tone chart the only one that comes close is the SSL-3 hot... it has that big midrange thing that I like in the bridge, BTW It does not have to be a Duncan :saeek:

I disagree. The CC with it's broad and prominent mids has a very quacky, squawky, midrange heavy tone...at the expense of bass and treble, IMO. It's one of my favorite humbuckers...I know it well. Lew

I own Teles with the Jerry Donahue and Strats with the Twangbanger... I also have Teles/Strats with the Custom Custom and a Strat with the Little 59...
I would say that my Teles with the JD are not even close to the one with the CC... the JD is a chunky single coil sound with a warm midrange but it is DEFINITELY a single coil tone with bright highs and a very clear low end(same goes for the TwangBanger)... the CC is a fat midrangy humbucker tone with smooth highs and soft/buttery low end...
It sounds like this guy trying to get a humbucking characteristic tone instead of a hot single coil tone... maybe like a BAD CO. type tone?

i would sugest the Hot. Its very midrangy just like CC with a bit more output, draw back is, it has hum from hell.
