Closing up developement of this one

Have been fooling around with this od for some time now...
A couple of years actually...
Just an on and off project Thomas and me do for fun mostly...
But now it seems that we have reached something alittle more interesting, than just fooling around with a sparetime project(uh I might actually make another pedal...haha)

It is highly variable od, with a sweepable mids(some might remember this one?) and a toneknob.
Low to high mids, from fat to piercing ugly cardboard nastiness....quite fun!

Not meant to emulate anything, just being userfriendly towards what ever amp you have, it is on the middle ground in the dirt territory(overly saturated stuff is not really my thing)

We might change a few things, like perhaps making it a 9v with internal stepup for close to 18v....
And the boost may dissapear as well.

Here is a few pictures of the prototype thingie.

And a soundclip that I made for myself, but well....
Kept the gain at the same spot, changes the mids and volume plus the toneknob....guitar is my Navigator strat.

Re: Closing up developement of this one

That sounds really nice!

How high did you have the gain up in that clip?

Is that four MOSFETs for clipping?

I want it!

Re: Closing up developement of this one

Hey man, that sounds real nice, good job. What does the wave knob do? Is it like an EQ?

Re: Closing up developement of this one

Sounds really good Niels....Liked some of the Class A Voxey kinda tones I heard...

Re: Closing up developement of this one

First I thought I saw a CMOS chip in there and was going to say how unlike you that is, then I remembered you have buffered bypass and use Quad op-amps in pedals.

Sounds good, does it get any gnarlier than that?

Nah no MOSFets...just npn transistors.
About 11, so not much dirt.
Can get more saturated, can post you guys a clip if you like! :)
What does the wave knob do?
Nah just a fancy word for toneknob:D But the whole nice thing is that you have the sweepable mids together with the wave.

Liked some of the Class A Voxey kinda tones I heard...
Makes good sense as I used the AC-30 amp plug:)
I wish I still had mine. How does it sound?
Well I modded mine some, but even stock it is a good pedal, I like these old Ibanez 10 series pedals.
I particularly like the dark way it sounds starting around :45!
Yeah as said, it can go from fat to total cardboard:)

Ah we do dabble with 4049 inverters...and 4069, and we are actually developing one, but it has more stages than just the CMOS chip.
Thanks to all for the comments...
I'll get one more up with humbuckers!

My ears and tone knowledge at work Niels! ;o)
