Cna you help identify this tele bridge PU?

Hi,
I have a great '83 Squier Vintage '52 Tele that sound awesome, very Roy Buchanan's Nancy especially on the bridge pickup. I have taken it apart and to my surprise, the bridge pickup wiring is not the cloth-braided type as is found in the rest of the guitar. So I believe it has been changed long ago. This bridge unit sports smaller, modern-style plastic-insulated wires sprouting out a a plastic tube reminiscent of what you use on JBs etc. BUT, it only has black, white, green and bare wires. No red in sight. Strangely enough (to my eyes at least) the black is wired to the switch while all others are grounded. Its output is really hot but well-defined and crisp, with tons of great mids. None of that wimpy, piercing highs found in recent-issue Fender reissues. As a matter of fact, this is the axe that gets out to play vintage Buchanan, Beck and Page licks. I suspect it is a Duncan as it sounds so great... ;-)

I have owned this guitar for more than fifteen years and have not changed this PU myself. Do you by any chance know what is this unit (no back plate on this one) and if it is corrctly wired? Thanks a lot for your time.

Oh, I forgot to mention it is a flat-pole type and looks the part as far as vintage specs go. Maybe it is a bit too shiny, but that's about it. I might be able to post pictures if that can help, although I believe the wiring scheme and number of wires might be enough for some wizard among you!
;-)
