What effects if any does Clapton use on the 1st guitar of the solo on cocaine? Is that an octave pedal?

Re: Cocaine Effects

Or, possibly a better question, What effect has cocaine had on Clapton's career?

:chairfall

Sorry, I don't know the effect he used on the song... Kool song though!!

Rock On.

Re: Cocaine Effects

I am really surprised by the lack of responses to this question. I thought there were tons of Clapton experts around here. Was I wrong? 12 hours later and only 5 replies. I am shocked.

Re: Cocaine Effects

I don't recall a real strong effect being used on that song. Perhaps it was a subtle phase trick of two guitars being slightly out-of-tune when double-tracked?

Re: Cocaine Effects

Oh, man. That's boring.
How could you get that kind of two guitars slightly out of tune effect with an effects pedal?

I hear effects. What do I hear? At the beginning of the song and in the solo. Does he use effects? What effects is clapton known for using?

Use a BOSS PS-5 Super Shifter and use the Detune setting.

I do that, also have PS-3's (discontinued) which I think are better.

That's about as close as you can get to sounding like two guitars with a stompbox, especially if you drop the mix level of the effect below even with the direct sound.

Do you mean a Leslie type of effect? Kind of a watery whirring sound?

Is that what you call the guitar sounds on cocaine?

And those pedeals, PS-3 and PS-5, I've never heard of them. I better check them out.
