Coil Cutting

So I've done some experimenting. I can figure out how to do a coil cut on my Jazz HB. Thing is, it cuts the coil that has the slugs and not the screws. How do I cut the screws and leave on the slugs? Or am I gonna have to turn this thing upside down and have the SD logo be upside down?

Re: Coil Cutting

You can set up a switch to split to whichever side of the humbucker you want (north or south). Check out this and look for "Single Coil (N) / Humbucker / Single Coil (S)".

Re: Coil Cutting

The screw coil is the green and red leads. The slug coil is the black and white leads. If green is grounded, and black is hot, then grounding the white/red link will leave you the slug coil. Connecting the link to hot will give you the screw coil.

Re: Coil Cutting

Using screw or slug is not the point, this can be tweaked by changing the leads or/and the magnet polarity. But the coil under the 24th fret has more harmonics and the better sound IMO
