Coil Split on a les Paul dyi kit

Say I'm a complete beginner to modding a guitar and I want to add coil split to the neck pickup, once I have my CTS 500k long shaft push-pull, what parts of the pickup would I wire to the pot for the split to actually work. On a diagram I saw, it said to wire as per usual, but it didn't really say that I should wire the hot connection anywhere. Do I wire the hot wire like usual, or do I use an alternate method?

Yes, if you have a 4-conductor wiring and have series in operation then the existing pickup connections remain as they were. Its the 2 taped off wires that get connected to the lugs of the p-p pot.

Yes, you are only using 1/2 of the switch...if you have another humbucker, you can use the other half.
