Coil split resistors ala PRS?

Hi,
I suspect that this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it.
Have any of you tried the fixed resistors (1.1 and 2.2k) that prs now uses in their coil tap circuit?
I assume the 1.1k is used for the neck and the 2.2k is used for the bridge?
What fixed resistor values have worked for you guys?

Re: Coil split resistors ala PRS?

Ok, let me ask it this way....
Am I off base planning to use a 1.1K split resistor on a Jazz neck and a 2.2K on a Pearly Gates Bridge?

Re: Coil split resistors ala PRS?

I haven't tried that, but sounds like it would be a step in the right direction.

Re: Coil split resistors ala PRS?

Sorry to hijack, but why would you want to do this? How does it affect tone? I really have never heard of this before.

You can tune your coil splits by running a resistor or capacitor in series or parallel.

Ok, the 2.2K with the Pearly gates works well. The split jazz with 1.65K (two 3.3K in parallel) is OK but I need to lower it a bit I think.
I couldn't find a 1.1K. I guess I will try two 2.2K in parallel next.
Still very usable split tones with out a ton of volume loss.what have you guys used for the Jazz in the past when splitting?
BTW, the Jazz and PG (trembucker) both with covers works great in a PRS SE Single Cut Trem.
