I cant seem to find an answer to this anywhere on the internet. First try i missed that you had to reverse the green and black wires when mixing with fender pickups cause of the reverse polarity on SD pickups. This failure took hours as the lugs are so small on the push pull switch i had to have someone hold a magnifying glass to see what was being soldered. It was a lot fiddlier than id anticipated and my smallest iron tip didnt seem to melt the solder at all. Before recommencing battle i need to know whether the white and red wires also need reversing in this fender push pull switch setup. This is how it was wired originally by fender. Couldnt find the diagram on their site.
With fender wire colours the black and the green that are paired in that diagram are the north start and south finish which i read is common with coil splits to cancel hum when split. Does that mean as youve switched the polarity with the green and black(SD green and black) you need to also reverse the SD white and red? All i kept finding was about putting the SD red and white together in series but thats not how this switch is wired. If the humbucker is essentially 2 single coils with starts and ends then if you switch the green and black to reverse polarity surely the position of their respective wire ends (red and white) also need to switch too or you arent pairing one coils start with the others finish anymore. This stuff makes my head hurt i just want this awful shawbucker out of there. Its so much worse than even the JB junior i had in my old strat. When i watched the SD youtube installation video it was just for basic series setup too and dont think it even mentioned the polarity thing. Sorry if this made you head hurt too.
