I just picked up one at Costco for $14 and I was very sceptical. This thing actually works, strange little tool. Anyone else have one? How long do the batteries last?

Re: Cold Soldering gun

i got 1 at radio shack for $20 a while back and have only used it twice. Seems to work ok, my only concern is what to do if the tip gets F'd up

Re: Cold Soldering gun

Good question, mine is a Coleman so hopefully they will have parts later on.

Re: Cold Soldering gun

I also bought one at Radio Shack. I mainly keep it in my gig bag. I find it a little awkward working in the cavity of a guitar. The Tips are very fragile and cost about $10 to replace. The key is to use a very light touch when applying the tip to the joint. Ina Pich it works well under regular situations I prefer my regular iron.

Re: Cold Soldering gun

WEIRD.....I was gonna ask for an update to the thread started a while back about these.

I've been seeing that infomercial a lot lately.

Cool to hear that they actually work. I might just grab one for sh!ts & giggles. (When was the last time you actually heard someone say that??? OLD B@STARD!!!) :laugh2:

Re: Cold Soldering gun
