Not too many people have heard this amp, so here's a collection of clips I've posted elsewhere.

Info on each clip follows:

All clips were recorded with my Gibson LP Studio, which at that time had a 498T/490R setup, Graphtech TUSQ Nut, and Graphtech String Savers. I'm using a Behringer Ultragain 2000 2 channel mic preamp, into a SB Audigy 2, into Cakewalk Sonar 2XL. Drums are via Drumkit from Hell (version 1), and NI Battery for the sampler. No FX were added to the guitar, except where noted.
I'm using a Marshall 1960A cab, that I reloaded with Celestion G12H-30's. Tubes are Shuguang EL34B, and 9th Gen China's in the preamp.

Clip 1: Single track, SM-57, all EQ controls @ 1:00, Gain @ 2:00. Volume is a little above TV level.

Clip 2: 2 tracks, MXL 900, same as above, except Gain is @ 1:00

Clip 3: 4 pairs of tracks, used a MXL 900 and MXL 901 together, same as #1 in regards to the settings, bass might be @ 2:00 - I don't remember...compression used on drums

Clip 4: 3 tracks of SM-57, same settings as #3. Reverb used on drums, compression used on drums, then used a bit of compression on the whole clip once it was in near-final form

Let me know your thoughts!

I love this amp - recorded it's pretty good, but live it's amazing.

It's also not really a one trick pony either...

I just tend to like higher-gain sounds more than lower gain ones, so that's what I record/post =)

Thanks for checking it out!

That amp would be great for Alice in Chains styles.
Now once I look at the clip titles I see they're mostly AIC :)

Yeah - funny how I came upon this amp - I went to try out a Shiva, and they had some Oranges sitting there. After being unimpressed/disappointed in the shiva, I decided to give the Orange a shot. Tonal Revelation....

Anyhow, I plan on doing another clip soon - Jerry Cantrell's Anger Rising =)

I love Jerry's tone, AIC and Cantrell's solo work...

But, I like doing my own stuff too...

Anger Rising will have SD-59's on that LP, maybe an RS Kit (basically a pot upgrade), and no more string savers. Should be a bit brighter...

Did you play any of hte AD series? If so, how would you compare the two? Obviously, the Rockerverb is the more modern-rock sounding amp, but does it do the vintage thing pretty well too?

Yeah, I bought a AD140HTC before I got the Rockerverb 100. I wasn't happy with the AD140HTC - it's bottom end is quite "different" - it's deep, but no real thump/punch to it, especially if you palm mute. I do, and it didn't do well for me. The Rockerverb has a LOT more gain on tap too, so that adds to the flexability of what you want to get with it. IMO, the Rockerverb is a sleeper of an amp that will put Orange on a LOT of venues, as word gets out about this killer amp.

The Rockerverb can do just about anything - though, the AD Series is more focused towards a certain kind of sound. The Rockerverb can cop an AD kind of tone, but the AD has it's own voice.

Hmmm.... tasty! I may have to look into this

Re: Collection of Orange Rockerverb 100 Clips

that sounded alot better than the ad-30r I used to play at the guitar store I used to work at. It was new too,, but the crunch wasn't as bold. tasty stuff bro.
peace

Re: Collection of Orange Rockerverb 100 Clips

Man, this thread completely changed my opinion of Orange amps. I hate the sound of the AD-30r, but for heavy stuff, this Rockerverb sounds incredible.

Re: Collection of Orange Rockerverb 100 Clips

Nice, quite agressive, amp...

Do you find it versatile or is it one trick ponny?
