Color coded pedals?

Has anyone noticed that pedals are being sold by color?

Like greens are Overdrives and Blues are chorus kind of thing?

What colors do you equate with what effect?

Distortion
Overdrive
Chorus
Phase
Delay

Etc

Mine is
Distortion = orange
Overdrive = green
Chorus = blue
Phase = oh wait that's orange too
Delay = silver or something

Yeah... if I see a green overdrive, I immediately think, "it must be based on the Tube Screamer." The thing is, though, many ovedrives aren't. And there are a few very recognizable overdrives in other colors like the Klon. If I see a gold pedal, I immediately think "must be going the Klon thing". Or for a Marshall in a box.

And many other very iconic pedals that are not overdrives are green and are not overdrives like Line 6 DL4 or the Boss Chorus Ensemble.

I guess I'm saying yes and no, LOL.

Orange pedals are generally better circuits, even if they aren't tuned 100% perfect out the box.

I think all Fuzz pedals should be black or purple or a combination of those colors

Hizumitas is the only purple Fuzz I've got. Purple is for vibrato in my book
