Hi guys:
Well, I just got a nice Charvel CDS from the mid 90s -I think- with HSS configuration. It looks very nice and it's in good condition. The problem is the pickups: they sound kinda vintage but a little bit esterile and extremely noisy.
Well, since I really like the sound of the TB6 that I had in another guitar, I have a new one for this Charvel but now, don't know exactly what to use in middle and, specially, neck, since I don't have previous experience with SD stacked humbuckers. The Wizard suggested me the JB Jr. but I've read a lot about this pickup... positive, negative, etc...
The guitar is locking tremolo style with basswood body and rosewood fretboard. I want a neck pickup that is smooth with good sustain that gets along well with the TB 6. It doesn't have to be dark like many neck pickups are, but warm enough to give me a stratocaster sense. About the middle pickup? Well, here I like something bright that can give a sound very similar to the DiMarzio Fast Track 1 that I really like. Hope my description of needs is clear enough so you can suggest me somethig ideal.
I'm very used to the DiMarzio style of giving info about their pickups, so I find the SD very complicated and not so clear. Sorry.
