Compensated claw firestorm got me ta' thinkin'

jon the art guy

Nerdy Nerd
Anyone make a tremolo that has individual saddles that can be locked or unlocked from the trem action? Sort of like a Hipshot, but connected to the trem arm.

I probably could google it, but Google is like...so far away. I would have to remove my hand from the keyboard and slide a mouse like...3 inches. Then move my hand again. THEN TYPE. GAWD.

So, does anyone know if such a beast exists? Sounds like the ultimate lap steel accouterment.

I wanted the same thing...sort of...so I made it. Hipshot B/G bender plus three drop tuners...and a fully functional Kahler, which can bend the 4th string (the only one that is anchored directly to the Kahler). The drop tuners allow allow tuning to open G, drop D, or double drop D. Or, the Hipshot unit can be ignored entirely – or partially – when stringing up the guitar, giving you normal Kahler operation.

Oh. My. God.

Look at that.

Look at that mass of awesome. It's like you have the Cyberdyne Systems Telecasterminator Model 101.

Thanks, man! It's an ugly beast for sure...but it's cool anyhow.

Forgot to mention that it's got a pine body and it's 1/4 inch thinner than your standard Tele. The neck is a '60's style veneer neck (7-1/4" radius with 6230 "vintage" frets).

At any rate, it doesn't exactly do what you were talking about, but it was born out of sort of the same line of thought as yours.

Sounds like your talking about a B/G bender that country guys like to use.
