Compiling a list of all tube, low wattage combo amps with reverb and possibly tremelo

18 watts of Mayhemologist
My buddy, who is strictly a basement player, has been playing a Supersonic 1x12 combo for a couple of years now and it is simply extreme overkill for what he intended. Put simply my Maz Jr NR and previously Prescription Jr smoke it in every way when we play together. Attenuators are not really an option as I've yet to use one that I like(Weber Mass, Ultimate, etc.) I am putting together a short list for him to look over and need some input so I don't miss something. What he is ultimately looking for is a simple, all tube combo, lower wattage(15 to 25w), master volume, reverb is a must, tremelo is optional.

Thanks guys!

As I always recommend, the Mesa Express 5:25 is a great little amp if you want to get a very wide range of tones. The DrZ Maz Jr is also a great, great amp.

There is no MV, and there is no real need for one, but who could forget the Fender Deluxe Reverb.

The new marshall Class 5 might be worth a look. Also the Orange Tiny Terror, and the Vox Night Train, but those would need a reverb pedal. And the Egnater Rebel 20. The Princeton Reverb reissue has both reverb and vibrato.

Mesa Lone Star Special...2ch...5/15/30 watts for either....separate reverb for either channel.

Ya know, there are LOADS of killer small amps out there he's missing out on because of that reverb thing...tell hm to get a reverb pedal and start looking at more amps!

I dont thik the Marshall class-5 has reverb ... not out here in the US yet. The Fender Blues Jr. can be had used at a decent price. The cheapest out is the Bugera5 has reverb and switch attenuator and a speaker out ...

Mesa Blue Angel, no-MV, with possibly the most glorious reverb of any amp Ive tried.

Re: Compiling a list of all tube, low wattage combo amps with reverb and possibly tre

yeah, maybe your friend should disregard that master volume requirement...if he would there's TONS of great small amps that he could feed with a good OD box.

I couldn't agree with you more!:friday: I need to drag him to Seattle and go hit a few good stores like Emerald City Guitars. Let his ears decide, not mine.
