im thinking to buy boss cs-3 ,but im seeing all the people using alesis rack (i dont remember its number).i can easaly get the cs-3 because here s a boss dealer but the other is too hard to get,is there a big diffrence between them?

Re: compressors

I've got a CS-3, and while the effect sounds pretty good, it introduces an awful lot of hiss into the signal. I'd check out a Barber Tone Press or an Alesis Punch Factory.

Re: compressors

If you want something simple try and look at the DynaComp from MXR is pretty cool and small but with big tone...

Re: compressors

I'd advise against the CS-3. It aint too nice to be frank.
Barber Tone Press is great. The Keeley Compressor is fantastic and the Danelectro Surf N Turf is a great budget buy.

Re: compressors

There's nothing special about the alesis rack units, they're an average quality low end comp. I would stick with a pedal for your guitar rig. if you really want a rack compressor, the best one, for you money would be an RNC, made by FMR audio.

Re: compressors

ok thats good ,what you think about the compressors in the multy effects,i had a digitech RP300 and i didnt like the compressor in it, what about the other multy effects?
