Confirmed:Vox ValveTone 610 Is A TS9/808 Made In China

STRATDELUXER97

Stratoblaster Tone Meister
I was just taking measurements inside of my Vox ValveTone 810 pedal and it is in fact another Tube Screamer with a bit of a different tone control eq...All of the cap values and most all of the resistor values within key parts of the circuit are identical to a Tube Screamer..The opamp is the T1 RC4558P like used in the original early 808s...Coincidence ya think? I don't think so! :D

I suspected this anyway, but now that I've actually traced the circuit and checked values around the input, the drive section, tone control, and output part of this pedal,it is in fact another Tube Screamer made by the Chinese...;)

It's a cool pedal, but so are all of the other Tube Screamers out there! :D Sorry about the posting of the wrong model number above as I meant to say 810 and not 610! :D

All right Mr. Tube Screamer guy I have a question for you:6:

I am looking to front my Orange with a TS or similiar but I am not spending the crazy $$$ for a real one so what is my best alternative? I don't mind swapping a chip if it's easy enought to get but I'd rather not rewire the whole thing.

Thanks

Has China actually ever invented anything, or just figure out good ways of mass producing American and Japanese products?

Allright John.. thanks for the inside scoop, that we might not hear anywhere else.. nice research there man :)

:D Get yourself an Ibanez TS5 and do the mods I show in the vault and you'll have a great sounding pedal...Or send it to me and I'll do it up for ya...Ask Midnite Man about his TS5...The TS7 is another inexpensive alternative..

Steve R....For you,anything buddy.You're welcome...:D

This is real good since 78% of Japanese products are based on US Patents!

Not to mention Korea and Korean made goods (i.e., Where is the world's larger guitar manufacturer located = Inchon Korea), where USA invented products are made under license of USA companies.

Keep taking away US jobs - folks and thank US Company CEO's, Banks, Computer companies, Insurance companies, IT firms, and especially Congress and past and present Presidents like Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and GW Bush for losing US based jobs to overseas suppliers...

Didn't Reggie Whtie fire off a blast about them "turning watch into a television or something?"

Those things are going for crazy money on Ebay! $80 for a used Chinese pedal?:11:

I Know..That's mainly because it's a cool looking pedal and was discontinued many years back, but it is in fact almost identical to a Tube Screamer...Too close actually in all the values I saw and measured...I've read a long time ago that the 810 was basically a TS but now I Know for sure. ;)
